Heavy Rain and Storms Wrap Up August in Waterloo Region

August signed off with a bang last weekend—Waterloo Region was under a special weather statement for heavy rain and thunderstorms on Aug. 31. Local rainfall amounts came close to or exceeded 50 mm, making it a wet final day of the month. If you were out in it, you felt how hard the weather came down. If you stayed dry inside, you're one of the lucky ones. Either way, it's good to remember that our region can handle a lot of water when it comes all at once.
